My Wishlist #1

Hello friends! Today I thought I would share a peek into my wishlist and let you know my thoughts about what draws me to these books!

51518972Majesty by Katherine McGee

- As you know, I already reviewed American Royals on my blog, and that novel was so good I ran to pick up my phone to see if there was a sequel. I am really excited to see that the publishing date is somewhat in the future.. ish... In any case I cannot wait to see where the plot leads the royal family of America in the second instalment!
- Publishing date: September 21st, 2020

37946417Afterland by Lauren Beukes

- This is an odd choice for me personally, as I typically do not gravitate to books that are as heavy-sounding as this one. However, in the summary it is described as having tones similar to the Handmaid's Tale (one of my all time fave reads) so I wonder if this would be a perfect fit for me!
- Publishing date: July 28th, 2020

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

- Like everyone who was a preteen in the 2010's I DEVOURED the Hunger Games Trilogy, and had a lot of really intense opinions on them (#teampeeta4eva!!!). So when I saw that we were getting a prequel to the entire series.. and that President Snow was going to be the main character???? Yeah I flipped out. I cannot wait to read this in two seconds flat and share my thoughts with all of you!
- Publication date: May 19th, 2020

36071008. sy475 The Betrothed by Kiera Cass

- So, I loved the Selection series... like a LOT. Those books were the perfect blend of YA romance and fiction, and me and all my friends counted down the days until the next book was released. All of this is to say that I am really stoked that Cass is writing a European spinoff to the Selection series! I love stories about royalty and I cannot wait to get my hands on this!
- Publication date: May 5th, 2020 (released at the time of writing!)

31284532. sy475 My Calamity Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

- Ok so here is my blogger dirty secret... I have never read any of the Lady Janies novels. I know! How can I call myself a book blogger without having read the series that took the book world by storm over the past 4 years! So I suppose that it is rather late to jump in the game now, but I am intrigued by this new Western take on the series! Maybe after this I take the time to read the previous two...
- Publication date: June 2nd, 2020
Alright friends, that is it for today! Next time tune in for my TBR list! Let me know in the comments if you are excited for any of these or not!

My Favourite Read of 2020

In my year long break from blogging, I certainly spent a whole lot of time searching for THE BOOK. I'm sure you all know what I mean. I mean the book that literally makes you laugh out loud, and tear up, the book that will not leave your mind no matter how many books you read afterwards. And friends, I think I have found it (at least for the time being). Keep in mind that I am calling this post my best READ of 2020, not BOOK, because I am aware that this book was published in 2019. What can I say, I am a little late to the party of critical acclaim that this book seemed to have garnered! Marianne's Favourite Read of 2020: Title: Daisy Jones & The Six Author: Taylor Jenkins Read Published: March 5th, 2019 Publisher: Ballantine Books Format: Ebook, 404 pages Summary from  Goodreads: A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous break up. Everyone knows Dais...
