My Favourite Read of 2020

In my year long break from blogging, I certainly spent a whole lot of time searching for THE BOOK. I'm sure you all know what I mean. I mean the book that literally makes you laugh out loud, and tear up, the book that will not leave your mind no matter how many books you read afterwards. And friends, I think I have found it (at least for the time being). Keep in mind that I am calling this post my best READ of 2020, not BOOK, because I am aware that this book was published in 2019. What can I say, I am a little late to the party of critical acclaim that this book seemed to have garnered! Marianne's Favourite Read of 2020: Title: Daisy Jones & The Six Author: Taylor Jenkins Read Published: March 5th, 2019 Publisher: Ballantine Books Format: Ebook, 404 pages Summary from  Goodreads: A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous break up. My Wishlist #1

Hello friends! Today I thought I would share a peek into my wishlist and let you know my thoughts about what draws me to these books!  Majesty by Katherine McGee - As you know, I already reviewed American Royals on my blog, and that novel was so good I ran to pick up my phon e to see if there was a sequel. I am really excited to see that the publishing date is somewhat in the future.. ish... In any case I cannot wait to see where the plot leads the royal family of America in the second instalment ! - Publishing date: September 21st, 2020 Afterland by Lauren Beukes - This is an odd choice for me personally, as I typically do not gravitate to books that are as heavy-sounding as this one. However, in the summary it is described as having tones similar to the Handmaid's Tale (one of my all time fave reads) so I wonder if this would be a perfect fit for me! - Publishing date: July 28th, 2020 The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins - Like everyone ...
